The Inspector  General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has said the removal of roadblocks from the nation’s highways and application of other administrative policies had reduced corruption in the Force.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the Force spokesperson, acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Olabisi Kolawole.

The statement said Arase made the disclosure when the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption led by its chairman, Prof. Itsey Sagay, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

It said that Arase further gave his total support for a warm relationship with the committee to succeed in its task.

Sagay, according to the statement, had earlier said the committee was confident in the ability of the Inspector General to take the police to greater heights.

He said his committee would assist the police and other agencies saddled with the responsibility of fighting corruption to succeed.

Sagay stated that the committee was mandated to promote the effectiveness of the administration of criminal justice in the country.

He also said the committee had the responsibility to improve the integrity of officers and men engaged in the fight against corruption in the country.
