The end of the year party was going on well till a fave & active student came to me that she failed my subject. 36F. Not that i'm under any obligation that she passes but i was quite disheartened & disappointed knowing full well that 4 extra marks woulda made a whole lotta
difference. I felt bad also because 5 mins earlier before she saw her report sheet, with a dull face, she came to me & asked me if she failed. I ignorantly assured her that she didnt & she smiled.
This incident happened over 4 hours
ago (to this writing) but it still kinda hurts. I've been in her shoe before & i know how it feels.
While we were both still looking at her report sheet in disappointment & suprise on my part that she of all people
failed, she dusted herself up and said
"dont worry master.it wont happen next term.i will not get F!".
I was impressed! That's the spirit! This is a student who has failed maths for (at least) two concecutive terms now and
probably more but wouldnt give up! Now tell me how on earth am i gonna fail her next term? Sure she'd put in more effort, she may not worth it but 1 thing i'm sure
of is Chinaza Mbam aint gonna fail mathematics next term! Not that i'll give her free marks. Naah, with such will from her & more effort from me, i'm sure she would pass!
#LESSON LEARNT#
Disappointment is part of life. Infact,it's inherent but our ability to 'bask' or snap out of it asap is what makes each of us different.
At times when we get disapointed but put in more effort, correct mistakes continue to press hard, with faith &
prayers, God would def crown it. 'Welcome' disappointment with open arms. They are meant to be but ensure you grab, learn what you must & shake them off asap!
#bitterleaf is awfuly bitter but it does more good than harm# Life is a teacher. the more we live, the more we learn. You could learn from a kid u know? You just gotta be humble & open-hearted.
